Take the Challenge
WHO?
Any youth from second grade through high school.
WHY?
Texas Youth Storytelling Challenge, TYSC for short, has been organized to encourage young storytellers from the age of 6 to 16. Anyone can participate. It's a time to come and tell your story to a panel of judges/coaches and get positive feedback on what you are doing.
SO WHAT?
Youth from anywhere in Texas may compete in either San Antonio for a chance be nominated for the National Youth Storytelling Showcase, held in Tennessee. From the top rated tellers in both San Antonio and Denton, five student videos will be chosen to be sent on to the state NYSS rep. Five finalist will be chosen from that group to beentered in the national competition. WHAT TO EXPECT?
You will be grouped with other students according to your grade level. Judges/coaches will listen to your story in a private room, so you'll have no distractions. There will be another area with snacks and a place to practice your story with other waiting participants, family and adult storytelling volunteers.

TYSC Events are being planned for Saturday, May 1, 2010. Information and applications will be posted here as it becomes available
