Tipi Tellers
Tipi Tellers' on-campus learning experience will live on in memories for a lifetime. Tipi Tellers provide storytelling sessions in a tipi for schools, libraries, summer camps, church groups and more. This program is available throughout the school year for kindergarten through grade 12 and for adults. Programs support specific Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for any grade level: reading, language arts, history, environmental education, math, social studies, and science. Our tipi is wheelchair accessible. We will gladly design a program to meet your needs.

Tipi Tellers utilizes the power of story to develop strength of character, teach respect for all life and promote intercultural harmony in an ever-expanding community. Tipi Tellers sends a study guide with TEKS related activities. We invite ten to twelve students to help raise the tipi. After the tipi is erected the stories begin with approximately forty to sixty students at a time. Storytelling lasts about 45 minutes per group.

Our tipi offers a peaceful, memorable environment for K-12 students to experience the ancient art of storytelling. Informative, entertaining, culturally diverse stories help develop respect for themselves and other peoples. Our tipi primarily is a teacher in its own right. Every program includes a short history of the tipi. A special program for fourth grade and seventh grade highlights episodes and heroes of Texas history.
