This workshop will help you find stories that you didn't know you had inside you and strengthen your appreciation of the cultural heritage running through your individual and family stories. Pride, selfknowledge, and healing can come from finding your own story. Stories, games, improvisational techniques will all be part of the workshop Workshop G-On Your Feet and Telling: Beginning Storytelling Jiaan Powers 8:30-10:00am Senior Center Workshop H-Coaching Kids With Class: Story Clubs for Students Shelby Smith 10:30-12:00am Emily Fowler Workshop I-Storytelling for Environmental Education Lucinda Wise & Reba Ott 10:30-12:00am Senior Center Master Class Dan Keding 12:30-3:00pm Women's Building Description Building Repertoire: Finding Stories That Suit Your Style and Making Them Your Own This Master Class will concentrate on finding stories that fit you, both as a teller and as a person. We will explore the written and oral tradition. Building a group of stories that can fit many audiences, ages and a variety of stages is the goal. Workshop J-I Say Cric, You Say Crac: Intergrating the Art of Storytelling into the Curriculum Sue Kuentz 12:30-2:00pm Emily Fowler Workshop K-Creating a Storytelling Persona Don Sanders 3:00-4:30pm Senior Center Workshop L-Storytelling in Secondary and Higher Education David Thompson & Lucinda Wise Emily Fowler SUNDAY April 1st, 2007 Master Class Peter Cook 9:00-11:30 Women's Building This workshop will introduce the participants to explore their creativity through American Sign Language Literature. At the beginning, there will be a lecture on the relationship between Deaf Culture and Literature. Cook will demonstrate all technical aspect of ASL storytelling and poetry. There will be a LOT of hands on activities for the participants to create their own works. This workshop is a MUST for those who are interested to know more about playing with ASL.
