Our Culture Ourselves
Storytelling is an ideal tool for discovering the links between our individual stories and the deeper cultural traditions that shape our lives. This workshop will help you find stories that you didn't know you had inside you and strengthen your appreciation of the cultural heritage running through your individual and family stories. Pride, selfknowledge, and healing can come from finding your own story. Stories, games, improvisational techniques will all be part of the workshop

Description Building Repertoire: Finding Stories That Suit Your Style and Making Them Your Own
This Master Class will concentrate on finding stories that fit you, both as a teller and as a person. We will explore the written and oral tradition. Building a group of stories that can fit many audiences, ages and a variety of stages is the goal.

This workshop will introduce the participants to explore their creativity through American Sign Language Literature. At the beginning, there will be a lecture on the relationship between Deaf Culture and Literature. Cook will demonstrate all technical aspect of ASL storytelling and poetry.

There will be a LOT of hands on activities for the participants to create their own works. This workshop is a MUST for those who are interested to know more about playing with ASL. Great for any classroom tools!
