July 24-26, 2009: KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD!

Tejas Storytelling Association is doing it's part to live up to Austin's popular bumper sticker mandate to KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD by swarming the lone star state's capital with...who else? US! We're counting on contributions of mild to extreme weirdness from storytellers from across the nation--including you! We predict that SoCo (South Congress Avenue), Weird Austin headquarters, will never be the same!

The SoCo area includes delicious eateries for vegetarians and ethical diners as well as lovers of comfort foods and coffee bars with wifi. The street is lined with unique boutiques and purveyor of folk arts, antiques, flora and earth-friendly mercantiles as well as excellent locations for sunset viewing of the flight of the Mexican Free-tail bats from beneath the Congress Street bridge.

Our conference host is St. Edwards University, located off Woodland Road between I-35 and South Congress. We welcome our new co-sponsor: St. Ed's Bilingual Education Student Association.
