Shelby Smith

Veteran teacher, Shelby Smith, focuses on stories of respect that encourage listening, laughing and learning. She fuels the love for learning and for the environment through nature stories, including many multi-cultural tales. Her energetic, animated style engages audiences of all ages.

Shelby's "Grow Young Authors" residency is the closest thing you'll get to Miracle Gro-Fertilizer. This Artist in Residence program offers a unique approach to excite students about writing EVERY day. She creates a stimulating environment modeling effective teaching strategies in vocabulary building, organization, voice and evaluation techniques.

Shelby's Stories combine the best of storytelling and workshops to establish a safe, warm environment in which stimulate and involve participants in the creative process. Programs are easily adapted or designed to match the needs of the audience.
